I'm not using "the new Outlook", I'm staying with the "classic Outlook". Since I don't use it, I have to delete the app. To my surprise, it re-installs itself after a period of time. It's super annoying since I have to keep deleting it How do I stop this from happening?

this is still the best solution and proof that it works is you can literally click the slider in the top right corner of the mail app to "try new outlook" and laugh as it fails to install it.

Do note that windows updates seem to manage to undo this as I had one recently undo it after weeks of it being gone, but it's a simple short process to redo this, this time i did the additional steps that the OP pointed out about changing allow to deny, and hopefully that prevents future window update undoings, but even if not, it's a quick process to simply redo these steps and restore mail.

As of 22H2 not many of these fixes seem to work anymore. open and close the mail app fully 3 times and windows update automatically detects that and installs Outlook. Absolutely horrendous piece of malware. It's literally impossible to keep uninstalled, that's why I just automated it's removal.

    Hello there,

I'm just struggling with this outlook and the old way of uninstalling it doesn't work anymore. It keeps spamming the new install.

Do anyone know how to stop this and just use the good mail app ?

    Considering I'm bad in coding

Wish you a good day all

    Hello Windmill Photos,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

After Microsoft's update, since New Outlook is a Windows component, even if you uninstall it, New Outlook will still download back as soon as you update your Windows system next time. But Outlook and New Outlook can already be used in parallel in your system, so this will not affect your use of Outlook.

We hope you find the above steps helpful, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us!

    Best Regards,

Lucas Li - MFST | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
