How do I rearrange email accounts in the new Outlook?

I want to know how to rearrange, move, the multiple accounts I have in Outlook. Simply move one from the top to the bottom and vice versa. What would seem like a very simple task. The accounts I have are two Microsoft accounts and one Gmail account. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. By the way this is the "New Outlook" so I've found you cant just click and drag the account like before. I'm guessing they require you to go back to school and get a masters in Computer Science to perform what should be a fairly simple task, Anyways, thank in advance for the help!

There is no "move up" or "move down". There is no ability to "send as" another account in the new outlook. Accounts disappear and must be manually added again and again. This is no "upgrade" Microsoft... This is the WORST "FORCED" rollout of a new product I can remember - Right up there with "Windows Vista" and "Millennium edition".

GET OUTLOOK CLASSIC WORKING AGAIN FOR ALL CLIENTS

I have to somehow explain to users in the SAME OFFICE BUILDING, in the SAME TENANT on the SAME DOMAIN that "Oh-You, user1, get to use classic outlook and its WORKING features, but you, user2, cant. User2 gets limited features and daily application "glitches".

I have been struggling with the same problem. Why make things hard??? Anyway, I reordered my email accounts by:

    1. opening my email account

2.clicking on the cog near the top right of my screen

    1. choosing the email account I wanted at the top and clicked "manage"
    2. selecting that account as my "primary" account
    3. waiting for it to do its magic, following its instructions until its finished
    4. shutting email down and restarting it
    5. the account it wanted at the top is, in fact, at the top and opened

    Hope this helps.

Why does each new and improved version have to be less user friendly and more complicated? What ever happened to

    "less is more"?

    Cheers from a snowy Toronto.

There is no cog at the bottom of my screen. The only cog is on the upper right.
There is nothing that says "Email account" the closest thing would be mail.
    There is no pencil icon
There are no 2X horizontal lines that allow me to drop/drag or reorder accounts.

    Hello Brian C,

Unfortunately, I don't have any further troubleshooting to offer.

There are many knowledgeable users active on the forum and I hope that someone else can offer further insight into your issue.

    Thanks Shalom

    Hello Brian C,

I'm Shalom and I'd happily help you with your question. In this forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

Here are some general steps you can try:

    1. Outlook Desktop (Windows or Mac):
    • Open Outlook.
    • In the left sidebar, you should see a list of your email accounts.
    • Click on the "..." (More Options) button next to the account you want to move.
    • Select "Move Up" or "Move Down" to change the position of the account in the list.
    • You can repeat this for other accounts as needed.
    • Changes should be saved automatically.
    1. Mobile Apps (Outlook for iOS/Android):
    • Open the Outlook app on your mobile device.
    • Tap the three horizontal lines (menu icon) in the top-left corner to access the navigation menu.
    • Scroll down to find your email accounts listed.
    • Tap and hold an account to drag and rearrange it within the list.
    • Release your finger to drop the account in the desired position.
    • Changes should be saved automatically.

    Best Regards, Shalom
