Hi, I am having several problems with my outlook (new) app. I cannot import .ics files into the app as no calendar is available in the "Upload from file" window. I have verified that Outlook (new) is the default for .ics files. I cannot sync my Outlook app calendar on my laptop with my Calendar app on my Iphone 10. I get an error message when I try to sync it via Icloud. PS: I am using a gmail account for my outlook. Any suggestions? Best, Finn

I have a solution!!!! Its obvious Microsoft couldn't care less about our hatred of their substandard Outlook they forced down out throats. My solution is every chance you get use a software that isn't made by Microsoft. All they have to do is give us are old calendar function back. But Noooo! the arrogant people at MS don't care about customers satisfaction they have a monopoly.

Like Finn, there is NO "Select import/export file" option apparent in my New Outlook and there is also no "Click on file" option. Many posts in other threads say there are those options which feels like a total lie. I am able to drag and drop my ics file into my Calendar to get totally dysfunctional "Upload from file" screen but the "Import" button is grayed out and unresponsive as are the Browse and Select a calendar options. How freakin stupid for such a widespread scheduling tool like an ics file to not only not work, but also get a bunch of false claims that it does work. Even this reply option doesn't work in that it doesn't allow me to upload a screen shot. ****?

Do not use Outlook (new). Go to the Calendar setting your Default Apps, and change the 'Set default file type types or link types .ics' to the old 'Outlook' (as labelled). Within outlook, ensure that you are using the classic edition. Some users can toggle this off using the button on the top right of the window. Close and reopen your application. .ics files should then work properly and allow you to open from an email attachment and add to your calendar.

Hi there, Do you happen to have any guidance on how to create iCal attachments in new Outlook? The guidance found here, Create an Add to calendar link , only shares information about old Outlook. The goal is to be able to forward or attach calendar events as iCal files so folks can download and add it to their own calendars, if they choose. This was a feature I used commonly in old Outlook, but am unsure of how to do this in the new Outlook. Thanks for your time and insights! Amanda

Hi,
