New Outlook APP Does not keep formatting when copy and pasting into another email

I'm sorry but Tom is 100% correct. The newest Outlook strips "lists" formatting (like bullet points and numbering) that is copied from an email. Here is an example that you can test this with. It happens every single time with Outlook Version 1.2024.111.100. This doesn't seem to impact font formatting such as bold / italics / etc.

Step 1 - navigate to an email from your sent items that has bullet formatting...

Step 2 - copy the formatted text.

Step 3 - Open Word or even a new email

Step 4 - paste contents.

Step 5 - smash your head on your desk because it will not copy / paste correctly.

When you copy and then paste, at the bottom of the pasted material there is a very tiny box. Hover over that and choose the left (1st of 3) icon. It's a clipboard icon and it says (Ctrl).

My coworker showed me this and IT WORKED!!

It is BEYOND frustrating the "new" pay for everything that DOES NOT WORK microsoft.

Trying to keep your formatting and links is just one more BUG you guys have screwed up.

I have been experiencing the same issues.

I had created a "template" email for one of my daily emails. In the "Classis" Outlook I could open the template email, copy the contents, then paste them into the new email screen that I had opened.

The New Outlook doesn't have the pasting options when the mouse is "right clicked" like Classic Outlook. There is just "Paste" or "Paste as plain text."

When I opened the template and used the CTRL+V action you suggested in the response to Tom, the formatting wasn't kept. I had specific font colors in the template but when they were pasted into the new email, the text was black - not blue.

It appears that the other settings imported for me when I switched from Classic Outlook.

I am very happy that the "Pin" email option is available in the New Outlook. Thank you for keeping that action with the New Outlook.

Using the current version of Outlook online, in the current version of Chrome, via outlook.office.com/mail:

If you select this text in an email in the Sent folder (or any other folder):

[Red Text In Bold, Green Text In Italic, Black Text In Standard]

then hit Ctrl+C (or right click and select Copy from the popup menu) to copy the text to the clipboard,

then click on the New mail button to open a new email,

then hit Ctrl+V (or right click and select Paste from the popup menu, because THERE IS NO "PASTE SPECIAL" OPTION) in the new email,

This is the text which is copied to the new email:

[Red Text In Bold, Green Text In Italic, Black Text In Standard]

Do you understand now what people are saying in this thread? If text (or tables, or bullet point/ordered lists, or Heading) are copied in one email and either pasted elsewhere into that SAME email or pasted into a new email, THE FORMATTING OF THAT TEXT IS NOT COPIED. In the current version of Outlook, Ctrl+V now behaves as if it were Ctrl+Shift+V, and the text is automatically formatted according to the basic formatting template of the destination document.

THIS IS EXTREMELY ANNOYING AND RE-APPLYING THAT LOST FORMATTING IS AN ENORMOUS WASTE OF TIME, and we would like Microsoft to fix it.
