Why am I trying to be forced into using Outlook.

Why is Microsoft trying to force me to use outlook? The app is just awful and I will not use it. I have had a hotmail account since 2000 and use mail tab on windows. Now it keeps wanting to switch me to the piece of **** outlook. Forcing this on people is ****. I will stop using microsoft email completely if this is the way it will be. Why are you doing this to people. Searching the web shows that this is really a bad move from Microsoft and is a ploy to make more money from ads. If this is the case,<removed>

2024-05-26T16:28:21+00:00 I suspect that Outlook is now an advertising medium even if as I do just delete the advertising. But hey it will just pop up again! Of course using ones source provider avoids the advertising but yes New Outlook is clearly being pushed as yet another advertising vehicle. Just about everything companies like Microsoft and Meta do is about advertising and influence.

2024-05-18T20:31:16+00:00 Exactly. It is disingenuous to say that nobody is forcing a change, when Microsoft's behavior is so aggressively coercive. This is the kind of behavior that government regulators consider when they are deciding how much to regulate an industry. If there is anyone at Microsoft who took time away from their STEM activities to read a U.S. History textbook, they should realize that behaving this way is encouraging the government to control them. I that what they want?

Open ‘Apps and Features’ with Win + I ---> Apps ---> Apps and Features
Find the pesky Outlook in this list ---> uninstall it! After OS updates check if it has been downloaded again, after updates uninstall it again.
You will also find yer beloved ‘Mail and Calendar’ in that list. Make sure it's there, if not, they've removed it (probably going to happen after Dec 31, 2024)"
