Why is Microsoft trying to force me to use outlook? The app is just awful and I will not use it. I have had a hotmail account since 2000 and use mail tab on windows. Now it keeps wanting to switch me to the piece of **** outlook. Forcing this on people is ****. I will stop using microsoft email completely if this is the way it will be. Why are you doing this to people. Searching the web shows that this is really a bad move from Microsoft and is a ploy to make more money from ads. If this is the case,<removed>

I tried to uninstall the Outlook app from the Windows setting. But still, it automatically installs itself. It is being forced installed on my PC. I have been uninstalling multiple times but it is being reinstalled multiple times with the user's permission. I am not able to understand why it is happening. Though Outlook is Microsoft's Product, I would rather say one of the Microsoft Products. Microsoft is just forcing you to use their product Outlook. In this community thread, somebody was lying that Outlook is not a product of Microsoft. Actually, Outlook is the product of Microsoft. Microsoft is forcing us to use their product the outlook nothing else. And believe me, Microsoft is not going to help you with this.
Hello Steven C Hi, I'm Karl and will be happy to help you today. First, just so there is no misunderstanding, this is a public user-to-user support forum. We're users helping other users. We do not work for Microsoft and have no input on Microsoft's policies, procedures, or design decisions. That said, just to clarify something, no one is trying to force you into using any paid version of Outlook. The "new Outlook" is the intended replacement of the Windows 10 / 11 Mail, People, Calendar apps. It is essentially "Outlook on the web" in an app framework with the added functionality of being able to add external IMAP accounts. At some point, the "new Outlook" will completely replace the Windows Mail app but both are free. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask, we're here to help you further if needed.
That is not accurate. I have seen with many updates on my win11system that the E-mail app wich came with my win version, changes my chosen default mail service provider back to Outlook. Why does Microsoft do this? I dont want want to suddenly have Outlook just because windows did an update. So yes, Microsoft DO force Outlook on customers.
And then go through the same process again every other month. As it keeps being aggressive about this switch.
Since I declined repeatedly to accept the transition I find that my document attachments for incoming mail seem to be throttled at above 150kb; in other words, if an incoming document attachment exceeds 150kb or so it will not download.
