Outlook sort by name, but can't jump to name

I just tried the NEW outlook.

I can sort by names A-Z, but then I have to scroll to find the person.

The old outlook, I could just type the first letter and it would jump to that name.

Is there a setting in the new outlook that allows you to jump to the letter when typed?

It's not as if Outlook is a free program. We're paying to use it so why isn't Microsoft listening to their customers? How difficult would it be for Microsoft to add that EXTREMELY USEFUL feature to the new version and put it back to the way it was? Or maybe Todd from the file room is in charge of reading all these posts and he hasn't quite gotten to ours yet. Yeah, that must be it because NO ONE ELSE IS LISTENING!!!!

I guess we will resist until they make us change to the new version? I still use the sort by name feature everyday and then I go to the name easily by using the keyboard!

I used the Highlight and sort from feature multiple times a day. It's 7/22/2024, and this issue still hasn't been resolved. Makes me believe they aren't going to.

Are you sure the ones working are using the "NEW" Outlook?

This is so frustrating. Such a basic feature...
