Why is Hotmail Spam Filtering So Bad???

This is the WORST spam filtering of any of my email programs.

I am constantly getting junk in my inbox and important emails are sent to spam.

Even my upcoming vacation flight emails from delta airlines and other businesses. This is causing havoc and stress I don't need!

What are my options? Increase spam filtering and send more important emails to junk?

Lessen spam filtering and get more junk in my inbox????

I created a ticket in the Hub Feeback of Microsoft. You can vote for it to raise it, hopefully one day someone at Microsoft will work on the issue.

Here is the link : https://aka.ms/AAkmcdw (it will open the HUB app of Microsoft on Windows)

I spend at least 10 min a day blocking spam senders often 2-3 a day from same sender, i also mark them as spam and forward to microsoft. Often these arrive in the midfle of the night and if my phone isn’t silence I’m awakened. Nothing is ever reflected in the amount and type of spam i receive after reporting . you’d think microsoft would at least own up to this problem and do something/anything.

Ive been a hotmail user forever but im afraid it’s time to move on from this indifferent corporation.

I decided to take one for the team today. Having a office365 subscription I saw that I'm supposed to have premium protection (obviously it's not the case).

But that gives me access to the chat support. I tried. And I lost 30 minutes of my time. Support doesn't seem to know what I was talking about.

They kept asking what app I use (it happens everywhere webapp, mail app in windows, Outlook app on android) while the issue is on their mail server directly (DO NOT ACCEPT DKIM SPF DMARK FAILED emails going through).

Then they wanted to take control of my computer to open a ticket for me for their "app team". That was a serious no from me. I don't understand how they can only open tickets by taking control of your computer.

BUT during the discussion he told me that they are aware of the issues. But not sure that anyone is working on that.

As said by Eric above it's really frustrating because in 95% of the case the spam / phishing is so obvious that a 5 years old kid would notice it.

I wish Microsoft would spend more money on their current service instead of that bloody AI.

PS: sorry if I sounf angry but those 30 minutes chat really made me mad.

To Microsoft, please understand the real problem here. There is a lot of frustration in this thread, and I've not read through them all, just noticing that as of TODAY, I still experience the same problem as the OP.

    Now, again:

I've been marking spam emails as "junk". Both those that land directly in Junk folder (to confirm) and those landing in Inbox. And marking non-junk as not junk.

Still, junk is coming to my inbox and my manually whitelisted emails STILL land in my Junk.

I've been doing this for years, in order to try to avoid having to change my email address.

WHY is there an option to marka s Not Spam, when this button has no effect? Don't try to circumvent this design flaw by referring to algos, a user button should have some master info action fed out.

Why does Microsoft provide these marking options, when they are obviously not working? God knows how many hours I've spent on this througout the years, hoping for betterment.

New step today. Now they even place those junk / spam emails as PRIORITY emails.

Is there really no one at Microsoft who works on outlook.com / hotmail ? Did they abandon that service?
