How do I get my Outlook mail working again if I cannot generate a new password. I accidently added a folder under the inbox and when I tried to delete I could not. I then lost connection to AOL and could not connect to pull my email. I went to generate a password but I keep getting this feature not available right now.
How can I get my Outlook to pull my email from AOL again?

Thank you
David,
Thanks for that, but I can take no credit for it - just Google & pure luck! I might add that although the workaround does work, emails are only forwarded on a daily basis. Not a major minus, but still...

The possible solution to recovery for your outlook is if you still have it 'stored'. Meaning, if you previously setup AOL email to work with Outlook, your computer will have it stored in data.
That is, you can run a program which will recover all stored passwords in outlook. So, if you had AOL or Yahoo or any other ISP which you previously stored in outlook, you can run that program and it will show you all of the stored password.
That program is called mailpv (which is free); however, a virus scanner will show it as a virus/malware. I mean, it's going after stored passwords and the only reason a program will do that is if a hacker is trying to recover them. They don't consider the fact that it might be you trying to recover it. heh.
Also, you can do the same type of thing to recover stored Wifi passwords. Like, if you're at a friends house and previously stored the wifi password, even though you're not at the friends house, you can still recover it since it was previously stored on your computer.
I had the same issue. Had the generated password setup for me and my 5 kids accounts but never documented.
I found a software call outlook email password genius from isunshare. It's 15 bucks but was well worth it for me. It gave me the passwords and I was able to setup our new accounts on a different laptop.
There was no way in hell I was spending the time switching emails to avoid going to AOLs crappy webmail.
This AOL issue started well over six months ago. Quite simply AOL (yahoo) stopped allowing for third party.
The reason and previously mentioned is money. All AOL users (that don't have a third party password previously setup) MUST use mail.aol.com It forces people to use the website so your screen is filled with ADs.
Even if you 'pay' for AOL, you still can NOT get a third party app password. You also can't recover one either. So, if you get a new computer, you can't add AOL to Outlook unless you stored the password previously.
This just happens to me. Lost my generated psssword and cannot recover or generate a password for outlook. I hope AOL is going to fix this.
If Verizon owns AOL, maybe that’s who should get the complaints!?
