How can I easily switch my Editor languages in Outlook

I am using four languages and I can switch with Windows+Space to the next language on the list. It works on a Windows-level i.e., in every program and not only in Outlook.

Drawback #1: this method is getting worse as the number of languages increase.

Drawback #2: there's no display showing the currently selected language.

I have additional problem: I start typing in the "wrong" language and everything is underlined in red. How to quickly change the language? In MS-Word I select the text and directly select the language in the status bar at the bottom. No such functionality in Outlook :( although Outlook is using Word-engine for its editor

Blai, thank you for your response. I work almost entirely in English, and my issue arose when another language was detected. I cannot imagine how frustrating this would be for someone who routinely works in multiple languages. This feels like a no-brainer!

Not sure if this is still an issue with everyone, but I've just found out how to add additional languages on the new Outlook. Since the new Outlook app has been imposed upon me, this has been a major hassle for me as I use French and English on a daily basis in my emails.

This is how I solved the issue:

• Create a new message or reply to an existing message.
• On the menu bar, click on Options
• In the top left corner, just below the menu bar, click on the small blue icon that resembles a pen with three lines.
• Then click on Settings.
• Click on "Gérer les langues de la vérification orthographique", or in English, something like "Manage spell check languages"
• There you can add up to 3 languages. When writing an email, the language you use will be automatically detected and the spell-check activated.

I think what the multilingual community is asking for is to bring back the feature of defining with marking+right mouse click the language you are currently typing in (used to be a feature) - and of course the better alternative to automatic detect the language you are typing in ([from the shortlist you define] used to be a feature as well- that only sometimes needed to be overwritten with the right click mouse define language).

Hiding or disabling such functionality is frustrating to those that write multilingual emails (sometimes switching language between paragraphs). For us hard to understand how that's not a problem for everyone.

I have the same issue and same setup as Johan. working in multiple languages and frequently in 1 mail.

for Example: Writing in Dutch and copy pasting a message in French.

The editor mostly detects the correct lanquage itself but not all the time.

in older versions of outlook you had the 'spell checker' and you could indicate the dictionary language of a certain word or phrase. than it would check again and see that it was or wasn't correct, but in the right language.

Now with the new version that option is gone in the editor and we want it back!

That's the solution we're all looking for here so please re-integrate this
