HOW TO Generate a YAHOO APP PASSWORD - standard instructions NOT WORKING!!

It seems to be IMPOSSIBLE to generate an APP PASSWORD in order to set up Yahoo Mail in Outlook. I have found all the instructions online but I do NOT find the said options in my Yahoo email account or in My Microsoft account?

I cannot find any clickable command for "generate app password"...i FIND EVERY OTHER OPTION. But Not app password!!

ANy help much appreciated. I seem to have lost my bellsouth email in my outlook!! what a nightmare!

    I think that yahoo knows exactly what they are doing, and that they have no interest in solving it, on the contrary, I think they did it on purpose, why? Because it is not convenient for them to be providing the service if you do not enter the website and do not look at the advertising of their advertisers! when you download your emails from outlook, you don't see the advertising and that's what they sell! Really disappointed in yahoo, a shame that after 25 years of being its proud user, they do this to me. I can't even redirect my emails to another provider if I'm not paying for it! They became heartless mercenaries. Shame

    I'm not sure there is a real solution, as I believe Yahoo doesn't want to make the email accessible outside of their fee generating ad environment, OR, perhaps outside of a two step verification (although that already happens when you have to generate the new password).

    I've tried 3 different browsers, my Android phone, and trying to get the password from Windows Mail in my Surface RT. No luck.

    Same here - Outlook for Android worked on my new Surface Pro 7+

    Lost one of my Yahoo accounts already on Outlook for Desktop.

    Tried all the other methods mentioned by others on this thread. Still cannot generate an app password.

    Thank you much for the pointing me in the right direction.

    I was struggling for that last couple of days with the inability to generate app passwords at yahoo.com. I was using Edge. When I finally went to Chrome all worked as expected.

    Actually I thought Yahoo is now owned by Verizon but m Canadian so don't always keep up with who owns who. Using Yahoo servers doesn't mean they own the platform (as mentioned, my Canadian ISP also uses Yahoo servers)

    People can create a Yahoo account without any ISP being involved (as shown in the screenshot) using the link below. In your case, your ISP is <Bellsouth.net> who uses Yahoo servers for their email services.

    You will need to contact <Bellsouth.net> support if you aren't able to get to the <App Password> generation function for your email account. The generation of a Yahoo <App Password> is not an Outlook issue. Outlook only requires that an <App Password> is used as the password for the email account.
