How to remove "External" tag in Outlook subject lines

Recently my outlook business account has started tagging emails as "External" with a massive grey box that takes up a third of the available space it the preview pane. It was bad enough in the subject lines but this is making my inbox unusable.

Whoever designed it obviously doesn't use email.

Is there a way to disable the External Tagging?

    The workaround for copying From to a new column doesn't allow you to sort by sender.

    That said Roady is incorrect that it is off by default - it is most certainly on in our tenant and I did not enable it (I'm the only one that could).

    No, Set-ExternalInOutlook is still off by default.

    How it is being displayed in Outlook has changed since Version 2211. Before, it was a less noticeable Infobar above the message. Even before that, since early/mid-2021, it was already available on Outlook Mobile and Outlook on the Web when you had the option enabled in your tenant. So maybe you had already enabled it when it first became available almost 2 years ago?

    I can't find your picture I am new to this chat/comment stuff but I really appreciate you! I am trying to find where "From" is? I have the latest version of Outlook and do not see anything that says "From" on the top ?
