Recently my outlook business account has started tagging emails as "External" with a massive grey box that takes up a third of the available space it the preview pane. It was bad enough in the subject lines but this is making my inbox unusable.
Whoever designed it obviously doesn't use email.
Is there a way to disable the External Tagging?

Great question and I concur, this external box needs to be removed, very annoying and not an upgraded service, but an annoyance.

Hello, I received a message regarding how to fix the EXTERNAL CAUTION*** in every E-mail. However, I cannot get past step 2 in the Microsoft instructions. Here is the reason:
I open Outlook:
I was given these instructions:
I click on View > View Settings.
Where is the "Columns" Button?!?!
All I see is ("Mail" Tab):
Compose and reply
Smart suggestions
Attachments
Rules
Sweep
Junk email
Quick steps
Customize actions
Sync email
Message handling
Forwarding
Automatic replies
Retention policies
S/MIME
Groups
There is also nothing that says "Column" in "General" on the left tabs or "Calendar" or "People" and I can't even "Search" it.
Seriously though, I just cannot find out how to remove that ridiculous EXTERNAL CAUTION*** warning message from every single E-mail that I receive. I have taken hours to look for various tutorials. All of which are different and none of them show the same screen or buttons or clicks or information. Please give me a short step-by-step way of doing this. It can't be that difficult, can it?
