Today I received an email from Microsoft saying

Security alert
We think that someone else might have accessed the Microsoft account ed**___@___.___. When this happens, we require you to verify your identity with a security challenge and then change your password the next time you sign in.

I've changed logged in, went through the security checks, and I've changed my password, but now when I try to log in, it tells me

Something went wrong and we can't sign you in at the moment. Please try again later. The Microsoft account login server has detected too many repeated authentication attempts. Please wait a moment and try again.

I'm on a Mac, and I can't access it through the Mail app, nor through a web browser. I've cleared the cache, I've restarted both the app and the browsers and the computer, I've tried different browsers, as well as Incongito Window mode, with no luck. It works on my phone Outlook app, though. But I can't access my emails on my computer?

Any ideas? How long do I have to wait to try it again? I've allowed an hour to pass and I'm still experiencing the same issue.

    i found that two browser addons, adguard and Malwarebytes may have been the problem. i turned them off on the outlook page, however i also signed into Microsoft here at the same time, but what ever it was i can now use my outlook email again! without that pesky notification shutting me down...

    Getting the same message, seems like its being going on for some time now. How long does it take for MSN to send out a patch/fix.

    today i installed MS Teams and faced the same issue

    "Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later. The Microsoft account login server has detected too many repeated authentication attempts. Please wait a moment and try again."

    MY SOLUTION:-

    I tried many times and the following solved the issue :-

    Step 1 :- "downloaded Google Chrome" and installed it

    Step 2:- "Made Google Chrome my default browser"

    Signed in to teams and everything worked like charm.

    Probably Team is not supported on Safari/Firefox.

    I use firefox as my default browser but now whenever i want to use teams, i first switch default to Chrome and later revert it after using Teams.

    I am new to MAC (was a windows user for decades) so Please let me know if any other method anybody else found

    Come on Microsoft, sort this out. I'm paying money for a service I cant use. It's been a known feechur for almost a year. In my book this is fraud

    And what is the definition of fraud?

    deceit, trickery, sharp practice, or breach of confidence, perpetrated for profit or to gain some unfair or dishonest advantage.
