I have had outlook 365 for years. Nothing on my end has changed. Suddenly (as of yesterday) every time i click on New Email a pop out window opens up (and the signature within my email is HUGE. About a 48 font yet the font showing is 12) This has never happened before and it is QUITE annoying. I have searched within the OPTIONS of Outlook and I cannot find anything with the option to open a pop out window when composing a new email. So there appears to be nothing for me to check/uncheck in this regard. As far as I know i have had no updates to Outlook that would have made this happen. Has anyone else had this happen and have you figured out how to stop it?????

This is not related to reading panes. Those are for reading emails received. The issue is when clicking "New Email" to create a new email and send to someone, the email opens in its own window. There is no reason it cannot open in the same window.
I have recently been having this issue. I use Outlook locally. The issue seems to be that they changed how you click on things. If you single-click on the sender's name the email opens. If you click on the email but not on the sender it will highlight the email (like it use to). I REALLY REALLY REALLY hate this change. It is stupid!!!! It will cause the opening of emails that could be malicious that you want to highlight and put in the trash. Microsoft has made an extremely poor choice by implementing this.
Our IT department is reviewing this at the moment as it poses a security risk.
Microsoft you need to vet these types of changes better before implementing them.
Clearly you are not responding to the problem I and others are experiencing. As I wrote, when I touch the screen (some of us have touch screens) the emails now pop out, which they did not do previously for the past decade. Nor does this occur on any other website, so it's not my laptop's fault. Microsoft made a change that is not welcome and refuses to address the issue
I have been having the same pop out issue with email and it is very annoying. I have had this email account for over 10 years and never had an issue like this I couldn't fix through setting adjustments. It would be helpful to hear back from someone at Microsoft with a solution to this problem (as it continues today). There was a suggestion by a commenter back in July about changing the layout reading pane settings to the "bottom" option; that seems to have worked, but I don't like having my reading pane at the bottom and when I tried to change it back to "no preview", the pop up email issue started again. There's no way to edit, open attachments, or click on links when the email pops open, hence making your platform unusable. I appreciate your help resolving this issue.
Thank you for providing those solutions unfortunately when I go on to my settings screen I am not given any of those options does that mean that I need to install a latest version of outlook on my computer?
