I can not receive or send email because One drive is full. My one drive is full over 5GB but my email is only 2.6GB out of 15GB yet I cannot use my email. Why is it using my One drive quota for my email?

I had medical testing done which I didn't get the results because it was undeliverable and my aunt is very ill in LA and my cousins couldn't send me pictures, they sent of her. Lord knows what else I didn't receive. This is unacceptable and beneath a company that is supposed to be professional.
A change to the email and OneDrive storage has been rolling out since February 1.
One change is OneDrive storage is now being called Microsoft storage.

This change adds your Outlook.com attachments and inline images to the OneDrive storage.
Check your OneDrive storage and the amount of storage used by the Outlook.com attachments and inline images will show.

If the OneDrive storage is over the limit, your email account will not be able to send and receive emails.
Thank you to those who shared that even after clearing out OneDrive or increasing the storage there are still issues with receiving and sending emails. Had hotmail/outlook for 20 years but unfortunately will now be going to Gmail. Why Microsoft? $$$?
They want you to get rid of everything out of outlook too. Clear out your junk files, clear out your deleted files, clear out your sent files and any other files you created. Only save anything that is important in your inbox. You can't forward it to another email account outside of outlook because Microsoft essentially locked your account. What sucks is that mail you haven't received is gone and sent back to the recipient as undeliverable. In some cases, that could make you look bad, or hurt your sales as someone told me that sells on Mercari and Ebay, (she had no idea she made the sale), never receive flight itineraries, medical appointments, etc. Has anyone at Microsoft actually given that a thought?
I agree. I did also not see any way to turn the attachement-backup of OneDrive off.
