Prior to this update, I had no issue with Outlook for Mac and Yahoo. I just updated to 16.73 (23051401). After updating, I had many problems with the Yahoo mail from within Outlook. It worked for the first 15 minutes, then got login errors and IMAP errors. I deleted the Yahoo account from Outlook and then quit. I then went back to Yahoo and got a new app password. I restarted Outlook and added the new app password obtained from Yahoo. It worked for the first 15 minutes then started to suddenly empty out all emails in all folders. Then the emails would eventually re-sync and reload from Yahoo. This now happens constantly. I tried the same uninstall reinstall process again, and nothing changed. Now also changes I make within Yahoo via my browser are not reflected in Outlook and changes made to Yahoo mail within Outlook are not saved when the emails clear, res-sync and reload, and they are not reflected in Yahoo online either. It's stuck in a loop. New emails DO ARRIVE and get added to the loop. Also there is a constant attempt to recreate the basic Yahoo folders: Drafts, Archive, Junk, Bulk. I get error messages saying can't be installed because they already exist - which they do! Why is it trying to reinstall them as if it is a new connection with Yahoo?
My setup is the following using OUTLOOK for MAC - BUT NOT NEW OUTLOOK. New Outlook does not support all the folders I have created over the years for organization and am unwilling to lose. I have a 16 inch MBPro M1 Max chip. Running Monterey 12.6.5.
AS a side note, I have for the past year or more had problems where white-listing emails does not work. Outlook is putting emails of people I email with regularly into SPAM. I whitelisted many of them, but Outlook is ignoring the classification and still putting those emails into SPAM.

I switched to Apple Mail about two weeks ago-- I have had zero issues. I may never go back. I should note that I use folders extensively but I don't use the calendar
Thanks for that info. The only calendar I use is Outlook's ... it isn't linked to anything, I just do manual inputs to it. Sounds like I'll need to keep it, unless I want to re-input everything to the Apple calendar, since it isn't a part of Mail. I might populate the Apple calendar one day when I have literally nothing else in the world to do, lol.
The problem with the New Outlook is that is does not support the same features as the Legacy Outlook.
e.g. Folders and Rules.
Aside from the look and feel, (that I can eventually get used to); for me, those are two critical features that are missing and preventing me from switching to New Outlook.
I have been going nuts for a month over this and only just come across this forum - relieved to find it's not just me that's affected but concerned at the lack of action from the players involved
I don't know if anyone can help me with this question - from yesterday my folder structure in Yahoo and also my entire sent items folder appears to have been ... well I won't use the word .... my sent items for 14 June are emails from 2 years ago and the emails I did send yesterday are not there.
Does any one else have this problem? Have all my emails from 2020 to now been deleted? Will switching to New Outlook sort this out? Help!!!
I've had similar experience. I went to the Yahoo website and checked directly with their servers. Luckily for me the Yahoo servers didn't show the same as on Outlook. For now, I've unlinked Yahoo and will link again once Microsoft addresses this issue. Am running 16.74 with a Microsoft 365 Subscription...behavior still erratic with Yahoo so have delinked.
Okay, as Outlook re-downloads, for the umpteeth time, the emails in my folder that holds 10,000, from my sbcglobal.net/yahoo account, I've officially HAD IT.
Has anyone here switched fully to Apple Mail? Are you reasonably satisfied with it? Any watch-outs while moving folders and calendar in Outlook into Mail? Does Mail even have a calendar now that I think about it?
I kept Apple Mail, had been using that before switching to Outlook for Mac last year, linked to all of my accounts (Gmail, Yahoo, outlook.com, and work), linked to my accounts. There is no "moving folders and calendar" involved. Simply tell you Mac which email addresses you want to use for Mail, Calendar, and Contacts. One can "mix and match". For example, I only have my Google contacts linked to the desktop Contacts app in Mac. Mail is linked to all email accounts. Calendar is not linked to Yahoo calendar because I don't use my Yahoo email for calendars.
The one "watch out" is Contacts. While one can link multiple accounts to Contacts, you may end up with multiple copies of the same contact (if the same contact is in you Yahoo, GMail contacts for example). Can be tricky to manage.
