After update to 16.73 Outlook for Mac, Yahoo mail keeps re-syncing and reloading. Changes made in Outlook AND Yahoo are not syncing.

Prior to this update, I had no issue with Outlook for Mac and Yahoo. I just updated to 16.73 (23051401). After updating, I had many problems with the Yahoo mail from within Outlook. It worked for the first 15 minutes, then got login errors and IMAP errors. I deleted the Yahoo account from Outlook and then quit. I then went back to Yahoo and got a new app password. I restarted Outlook and added the new app password obtained from Yahoo. It worked for the first 15 minutes then started to suddenly empty out all emails in all folders. Then the emails would eventually re-sync and reload from Yahoo. This now happens constantly. I tried the same uninstall reinstall process again, and nothing changed. Now also changes I make within Yahoo via my browser are not reflected in Outlook and changes made to Yahoo mail within Outlook are not saved when the emails clear, res-sync and reload, and they are not reflected in Yahoo online either. It's stuck in a loop. New emails DO ARRIVE and get added to the loop. Also there is a constant attempt to recreate the basic Yahoo folders: Drafts, Archive, Junk, Bulk. I get error messages saying can't be installed because they already exist - which they do! Why is it trying to reinstall them as if it is a new connection with Yahoo?

My setup is the following using OUTLOOK for MAC - BUT NOT NEW OUTLOOK. New Outlook does not support all the folders I have created over the years for organization and am unwilling to lose. I have a 16 inch MBPro M1 Max chip. Running Monterey 12.6.5.

AS a side note, I have for the past year or more had problems where white-listing emails does not work. Outlook is putting emails of people I email with regularly into SPAM. I whitelisted many of them, but Outlook is ignoring the classification and still putting those emails into SPAM.

Yes, this happened to us at one point along with the repeated emptying of the inbox and multiple folders with the legacy Outlook. We switched back to New Outlook and since then everything has been working fine-synching, inbox, sent items, folder function etc.. We have a MacBook Pro with Microsoft 365, Yahoo IMAP server connection.

I have been going nuts for a month over this and only just come across this forum - relieved to find it's not just me that's affected but concerned at the lack of action from the players involved

I don't know if anyone can help me with this question - from yesterday my folder structure in Yahoo and also my entire sent items folder appears to have been ... well I won't use the word .... my sent items for 14 June are emails from 2 years ago and the emails I did send yesterday are not there.

Does any one else have this problem? Have all my emails from 2020 to now been deleted? Will switching to New Outlook sort this out? Help!!!

I would like to add a question to Janice's question. Does Mac Mail easily import your "On my computer" folders from Outlook for the Mac?? Thanks.

Okay, as Outlook re-downloads, for the umpteeth time, the emails in my folder that holds 10,000, from my sbcglobal.net/yahoo account, I've officially HAD IT.

Has anyone here switched fully to Apple Mail? Are you reasonably satisfied with it? Any watch-outs while moving folders and calendar in Outlook into Mail? Does Mail even have a calendar now that I think about it?

Indeed, it hasn't changed the issue that sparked this discussion several weeks ago.

I thought it was at least syncing with deletions, but it turns out it wasn't and even the beta version is not.

This is what, nearly a month and there's no apparent solution. I work in a software company--and a BIG one--and I know that bugs are taken seriously as a quality issue by my employer. Why isn't MS of the same mindset?
