Task bar moved from bottom of screen to the side of screen (I can not figure out how to fix this)

How do I move the task bar (has apps: mail, tasks, calendar, etc.) back to the bottom of the screen? Is this called the task bar? I can't figure out how to restore the settings. See picture.

    I hate this bar being on the left. What genius decided it was time to just randomly make people uncomfortable and waste their time looking to fix it.

    HATE THIS - we should have a choice. this is NOT convenient and there's no rationale. Why FORCE us into something like this?????????????

    The steps at this page fixed it for me. It requires editing the registry.
