How do I change the display name of emails on "New Outlook"?

I have multiple emails that are the same except for a slight change on the end (eg emailaddressone, emailaddresstwo) on New Outlook, I can't distinguish them. Is there a way to change the display name of email accounts and also change the order at which they show up in the list?

    Any update on this feature?

    I've staved off "New" outlook as long as I can, but as of a couple of months ago, outlook began to force us out of classic, and into "new". One by one, as each one changes, new problems arise, not being able to access old features.

    I've attempted to roll some back, with very little success.

    A simple name display would be appreciative.

    Yep, no 'file' in my New Outlook account either! For some reason, when you right click on the account name, where you see 'rename' it's greyed out. Why? This would be the logical way to change the name displayed but it's unavailable. Very annoying!

    You should be able to change the name in which you see your email accounts by going to File-> Account Settings> Account Settings, double clicking the account in question, then changing the “Account name” field.

    I keep seeing "file"-> as first step in directions, but there is no file link in any of my outlook or ms operating windows. what does file mean? I can find a settings icon, but those of course are in different areas and control settings for different operations. For this question changing email name do you mean by file to go to my email main page - then click on settings icon at top??? this is not first time I've seen file used as first step in answering a question. thanks

    I switched FROM Thunderbird because at least for me and my IMAP account Thunderbird was painfully slow to do anything. Waiting minutes to delete email, even after compacting/optimizing/rebuilding the account. Outlook is much faster, but poor in essential features.

    Huh, I've been trying to contact Microsoft Support about this matter, but there is no phone number or email anywhere?

    I am a Mac user, but I have to use Windows computer at work. I have tried to make this "name thing" work. It doesn't. The regular outlook app is horrible.

    I suggest investing in a Mac since Apple mail is golden.
