What happened to Next Item/Previous Item arrows in Outlook 365 for Mac?

My Outlook 365 for Mac recently updated. Previously, when I opened an e-mail message, there were up and down arrows in the upper right that I could use to go to the previous or next message without returning to the Inbox and list of emails. Now, those arrows have disappeared. No similar buttons or arrows are in the ribbon that's now at the top of the screen and I don't find them as options when trying to Customize the ribbon, even though there would be room for additional buttons. (See below.) I also haven't been able to find keyboard shortcuts that would let me go to the next or previous message without returning first to the Inbox.

Thanks for any help with this!

Spread across a couple of earlier replies, can confirm that on a windows keyboard and in chrome, the CTRL-"period" and CTRL-"comma" workaround operates as described. Helps to think of it as more CTRL plus left and right carets since that's the other characters displayed on those to keys. Also *somewhat* useful that they are right next to each other.

OMG, I thought I was losing my mind.

Please fix this ASAP. No arrows when using Safari.

This is an EXTREMELY maddening change and is making the use of Outlook so disfunctional as to be worthy of abandoning it.... after more than 20 years of exclusive use as my email system.

Please let us know if (and/or WHEN) you plan to fix this problem?

Same problem occurs whether I'm using Firefox or Safari.

I'm having the same problem in Firefox / Windows 10.
