Outlook External Email Tag

Hello Everyone,

I have an employee that opened a ticket with my help desk about his Outlook Desktop Application. Yesterday he noticed an "External" tag that appeared on his inbox in front of the Sender. Is this a new Outlook feature or is there a way to remove this tag from view. Our organization already has a tag inside the email warning employee's of the external/internal status of the email.

Other users including myself do not see this in their Desktop Apps, we do see it in the Online Version of Outlook though.

    Thank you for your advice on how to resolve. A very easy user led method to resolve an annoying update (that has only just appeared on my outlook (Jan 2024).

    Your solution should be pinned at the top as it is the most useful.

    An even simpler workaround that I've found is to simply move a small or even blank field before the From field. Like the earlier suggestion, I right-clicked the From column to begin the process of creating a new column, but instead of creating a duplicate From field I just created a text field.

    I left it blank, inserted it before the From field and shrank it to the minimum width. Poof - no more tags.

    Same issue here. I have EXTERNAL on my Outlook Andorid app, but not in Outlook. Using version 2210 Build 16.0.15726.20068, 32 bit.
