Outlook.com "Sync Email" settings - "Unable to load these settings. Please try again later."

Same problem here started 3/9/2022 for me in the United States. Unable to load these settings message and I can send messages from my connected account but it won't retrieve them anymore.

For decades I have used the various Microsoft email programs Live, Hotmail, Outlook, Outlook on Web, Outlook on IOS, Mail App and so on and they continue to get worse and constantly break what does work. A decade ago you could create rules for POP emails coming in but then they broke that. The connected accounts is what kept me on the Microsoft email platform because I could get emails from multiple accounts into 1 inbox. It worked decent until Microsoft broke it.

Now they want you to add another account into the Mail app in Windows 10 which honestly sucks. I have decades of emails and such in folders under my "outlook" account but now my work account is going to be a different folder structure which I have to recreate and which won't have all of the legacy emails.

Plus I want one SINGLE unified Inbox. I don't want to have to switch between different accounts to see what all came in. This is how Outlook.com worked beautifully with Connected Accounts.

At lease Apple Mail in the iPhone is smart enough to have an All Inbox option even though they have different accounts listed also.

I don't see how Microsoft can screw things up so bad. I've written email programs to fetch data from POP and IMAP accounts and it's not rocket science. How anyone could think that removing connected accounts was a good idea I have no clue.

Sad that Microsoft has lost all common sense in their product development over the last 20 years.

Having the exact same problem after i relocated to another country,
unable to send emails and reply to emails originating from another country and also unable to access the "sync settings",
contacted microsoft twice only to receive the same **** bot response about how they're aware the server has an issue but its been almost two weeks and still nothing!!
this is freaking ridiculous and its interfering with my freelance work where all my contacts are and work emails are tied to this account!

I totally understand that you have concern about your Outlook.com wherein the sync email option is blank. Let's us check on this together and sort this out. Rest assured, I will do anything that I can to assist you with your concern.

Based on your description, the reason why your sync email option is blank might be because there's a problem on the server. You may observe the behavior by trying again after 24 hours or by using other network for the internet.

Now here's my to answer your questions;

With synchronizing your Gmail to Outlook.com, this is the same with connected accounts on Outlook.com, this option is no longer available on Outlook.com. Microsoft has removed this option since May 10, 2021. In order for you to sync your Gmail account to Outlook is you will need to use the Outlook mail application to access you emails from Gmail. Please refer to this article here for more information. Add your other email accounts to Outlook.com (microsoft.com)

Hello !

I have experienced exactly the same recent days. I have synced more gmail addresses for long time without problems. Suddenly I got failure message that Outlook could not access one of my accounts ( since last Saturday ) and I was urged to go to Outlook settings , email sync to fix the access issue . But it is impossible because I get same message "unable to load this settings. Try again later " . Now I have tried again later many times over a couple of days !!

All I want to do is turn on POP so I can get the emails from my hotmail account down to outlook on my windows 10 computer.

Please fix the Sync setting that is causing the load failure or give me a way to turn on POP!!

That’s exactly all I want to do as well, just set up my Hotmail on my laptop and access though my outlook program with POP or IMAP. Anyway I’m going to just get a new email address somewhere else. Can anyone recommend a good one? Maybe yahoo or gmail?

Same problem here. I cannot access the E-mail sync settings in Outlook.com.

"Unable to load these settings. Please try again later."

I have connected multiple pop3 accounts. One of the accounts has a new password, which I can't modify :(
