Outlook.com "Sync Email" settings - "Unable to load these settings. Please try again later."

I am using the free version of Outlook.com and followed the forums and help how to set up a GMail sync to Outlook.com.

However since two days I got this clicking on the "Sync Email" menu.

Even the X button on the upper right corner does not operates when being in this menu.

I tried this menu in browsers like Edge, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera.

All the same results.

Questions:

  1. can I use Gmail sync using free version of Outlook.com?
  2. do you know this

    Unfortunately, this kind of bug makes using Outlook pretty inviable for me. It's not the first time a core feature stops working for days. The feature of using IMAP and POP was removed from my settings right before it stopped working. I decided to accept the only option of using the GoDaddy integration (which already seem'd absurd), but now it doesn't work either.

    Tested on another Outlook account (that never changed anything on that setting), same bug. Since it seems like a problem for everyone, I hope it will be fixed soon.

    Please, prioritize this bug, it is really important for us.

    Same issue.

    Microsoft removing the ability to connect new accounts to Outlook is one thing, I can accept that even if I don't love it, but not even being able to remove the accounts I previously had connected is quite frustrating. The daily emails from Microsoft reminding me to 'Please update my credentials' are wearing a little thin.

    Do you as a moderator have an idea if Microsoft is aware of this? It's been 6 days since this thread was created and my outlook account is basically useless without the ability to open the sync mail settings.

    I also got the same problem.

    I did change some aliases on my Microsoft account a few days before it started happening (not sure if it is related).
    Changing browsers did nothing.
    Also, I noticed that when I select the Sync Email settings, there is a request a 500 response code.

    I believe the problem is actually that I removed all my connected accounts that used to be able to add on these settings, but there was no option to add them again. Now they are null(?)

    Same problem here,

    I never synced with Gmail or had any POP3 accounts configured.

    When I click Sync email from within Outlook I get Unable to load these settings. Please try again later

    I cannot even close the page when I am in this tab.

    I am not a 100% sure but I think this issue cropped up after I switched from an @outlook.com address to another primary alias (non @outlook.com) address.
