Outlook for Android opening links in internal browser

Hi, I noticed that all my links in my Android Outlook app open in an in build browser instead of the app, (such as youtube) This is really frustrating as I have to do other steps to find the option to 'Open in browser' so it then opens in the youtube app. This is for all links amazon, twitter etc.

Is there any way to disable this option? I am unable to find it in settings withtin the app.

Thanks

    I'll try uninstalling / reinstalling when I can face setting up all my accounts again.....!!

    The annoying thing is that all these issues could be easily resolved by a setting which allows the embedded browser to be turned off for those (probably relatively few) users who have these kind of issues. It seems very arrogant of MS Support to respond with effectively "suck it up guys"...

    Unfortunately many links in emails don't point directly to the destination but rather some cryptic link on some platform, to measure engagement and count clicks, which then redirects elsewhere, so by the time a page opens in the "Edge webview experience" the URL has changed, and opening it in the default web browser might not result in the same experience. I have this issue with many invitation emails to surveys, where re-opening the survey in the browser from the webview won't work, because it needs to go through the original link in the email. Also, some pages that open in the webview don't redirect automatically, like they do in the default browser. And then there are of course all the issues reported earlier by other people in this thread that prevent integration with password management tools or plug-ins. In my opinion it is a very short-sighted approach to force us to use the Edge webview and not allow us to choose how email links are opened, and I for one don't care about Bing search capabilities - all I need is the links in emails to open in my default browser, like any other email client supports it these days.

    I have worked for mamy huge enterprises and i have seen several of those dissapear when they lost their way. MS is exhibiting the same symtoms.  Rather than focus on innovation and creating escape velocity (aka Geoffrey Moore), they are messing with minutia in an attempt to direct more traffic throufh there embeded browser (clicks = $).  It's short sighted and customers patience is being tested.

    MS Please go back to being a leader and innovate rather than force unsavoury soln's like this embedded browser onto your loyal but fragile and yet  agile customers.

    Yikes, it sounds like you may be one of the ones it doesnt work for. :( When I click an email link and I have an app for that sender, it opens straight in the app. The first time I did it after I reinstalled Outlook and restarted my phone, I did have to tell it to always do that, but ever since then it's been doing it automatically. Sorry!

    Yeah, I realize that. Problem is that it doesn't work properly......!!!!!

    In particualr, many app-specific behaviours don't work, especially functions relying on being automatically logged into 3rd-party apps.

    Previously, if the link I'm following from an email was a notification for a 3rd-party app, eg Strava, eBay etc the link would initally open in Chrome but then immediately & automatically redirect to open in the installed app.

    Now, with the awesome built-in Outlook browser, the following happens :-

    I click the link from the email;

    Link opens in Outlook browser;

    I click the 3-dot menu button;

    I click "open in browser"

    Phone redirects to Google Play Store and opens the app download page for the native 3rd-party app;

    If I'm lucky (but not always) that page will present an "Open" button to open the (already installed) app relevant to the link in the original email.

    So am I supposed to believe that going from one click to many clicks for the same operation is an improvement?
