Hotmail account repeatedly locked

On Sat Jan 8, 2022, my outlook/hotmail account was temporarily locked due to "unusual activity". I requested a verification code, and my account was unlocked. I changed my password. I logged in OK the next day. I can receive emails, but as soon as I send an email, my account is locked again. What can I do?

    Mine too. Cleared sent emails for 6 months and now works. Thanks so much for sharing fix

    Even trying to get into this forum this morning, my account came up as blocked again. I am frankly quite disgusted, surprised and disappointed by the lack of information from Microsoft. I have been experiencing problems since January 1st and I think it appalling that all they say is they can't unlock it. I am at my wits end as to where to complain or who to contact
