Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Hi Bill - Could you please let me know how to locate and change the regedit entry in order to do this? THANK YOOUUUU!!!
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Whilst using Windows 10 Pro, I am receiving notifications in the notification centre when I have received a new email in Outlook. However, when I click the email in the notification centre it does not open the email.
Please can you help sort this issue. Followed all other forums etc. and these have not helped solve my issue.

It seems this works for most but it may be all related to versions of Outlook etc. Sorry could not help but maybe this will help target the "slow" Microsoft support ......maybe
Thanks for the suggestion, I made the edit and it didn't make a difference.
in summary I changed
Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppUserModelId\Microsoft.Office.OUTLOOK.EXE.15
to
Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppUserModelId\Microsoft.Office.OUTLOOK.EXE.16
On the off chance, I also tried
Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppUserModelId\Microsoft.Office.OUTLOOK.EXE.19 But that also didn't work.
Not sure why Microsoft have not supplied answer in this thread, but copied from another is answer. It works.
I used zx3junglist answer in a different way. I found a regedit entry for:
Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppUserModelId\Microsoft.Office.OUTLOOK.EXE.15
But I am using Outlook 2016 (should be OUTLOOK.EXE.16, not 15)
I renamed Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppUserModelId\Microsoft.Office.OUTLOOK.EXE.15
to
Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppUserModelId\Microsoft.Office.OUTLOOK.EXE.16
and popups work. When I click the popup, I get the email!
I hope this helps some!
You are a legend. Worked perfectly. :)
I am also having the same issue - looking for a solution hopefully in an upcoming update?
