Contact keeps re-appearing despite deleting, multiple copies!

I don't know what to do anymore, apart from migrating to google: ONE (and only one so far) of my contacts keep duplicating itself in my people list. No matter how many times I delete it, and where: I tried to delete both online on people.live.com and on the W10 people app. Multiple copies keep reappearing after a few hours.

This has now reached intolerable levels of frustration and I will move everything to google if a reasonable solution is not provided by MS quickly.

    Hi, I’m facing similar sort of problem however my experience with this site is that it hardly helps. For me this issue is encountered due to migration into new outlook.live.com from 1-Nov-2016, it seems that beta version of this site which is not completely tested but released to wider users. Along with that this decade is known for DATA and by looking at so many issues seems that MS is unable to handle and take care of important user DATA properly.

    So you can try below to order to raise it with Microsoft. I raised once and they are responding by mails at least asking more details relevant to this issue. So hope similarly this 'Help' option will help you... All the best!!

    After login into outlook.live.com click on '?' - Top right side of screen

    At the bottom of the screen you will see 'Help' option - click on it in order to raise this issue to Microsoft support team...

    Contacts seem to stop reappearing at the moment. I'm also avoiding to log in to my Windows 10 PC with Outlook.com account so far.

    Oh no, after a week of 'stability' the most of my contacts disappeared, only six of 80 left.

    Please notice I didn't sync these contacts last week.

    I have the same problem.

    Periodically (once a week or something like that) some dead contacts reappear in my Outlook.com contacts.

    I tried to delete them by various means - via Outlook.com web interface, via Windows 10 phone contacts app, via desktop Outlook app - no luck. I even remove them from dumpster (via 'restore deleted items' menu), but they still live somewhere on the server and reappear again and again. Some of these reappeared contacts are empty entries, some of them named 'Q' (just one letter) without contact details inside.

    Interesting fact: when I'm trying to import contacts from Outlook.com to Gmail, Gmail (via third party provider ShuttleCloud) pulls 262 contacts from my Outlook.com account, though only 77 are visible in Outlook.com, desktop Outlook app and People app on Windows 10 phone. Most of these 262 contacts are empty entries or entries named 'Q' (just one letter). 

    Finnaly, a week ago I decided to setup my Windows 10 phone with a new dummy Microsoft account to avoid syncrhonization of the broken contact list and added two additional accounts - a Gmail for contacts sync and my old Outlook.com for email only. Contacts seem to stop reappearing at the moment. I'm also avoiding to log in to my Windows 10 PC with Outlook.com account so far.

    I also have the same issue. Creation thousands of clone contacts and linking randomly between them causing the creation of absolute chaos in contacts list. I will also leave the OS as soon as possible if we won't get any reasonable answer from MS in reasonable time.
