DOWNLOADED ATTACHMENTS IN OUTLOOK ANDROID APP

I downloaded the latest version of Outlook app from play store on my android

I was able to download the attachments from my mail and I cold open it from the outlook app 

But i am not able to find the files that I have downloaded in my sdcard or in mu internal memory

please anyone, help me.......

Hi Jerrin,

I appreciate the response. I am really sorry the above suggestion's were not helpful in solving the problem.  I suggest you to contact the manufacturer of the phone to check where the downloads are saved exactly.

I am experiencing he same issue, I have discovered that the files (in my case, a PDF file) is being saved to

\data\data\com.Microsoft.Outlook[remainder truncated], but it seems that folder is hidden or something, so I can't see the folder directly on the phone until I get around to investigating via my PC. I hope this kinda helps

The download process of Outlook for Android is not really downloading the file completely. As you can noticed that it's under the .tmp folder which stands for Temporary folder. This is to avoid eating up storage for your phone.

I have tried to replicate your issue and I found a workaround.

  1. Download the attachment from your email and open the file.
  2. Click the hamburger logo and select Save as. Then save it on your desired location on your SD Card.

That way it's not being deleted since it's not stored on the temporary folder.

    I suggest everyone to report this through Help and Feedback in the App.  

    Click contact support.

    There first respsonse will be go to save as  icon,  or the folder of attachments, saying it works.

    When you point out that it does not actually download to the default download folder and only to the download app, you can only view the file not actual get the file from file manager they admit defeat and say it does not work.

    All of you please report and maybe they will fix.

    ok, for those of us who haven't figured this out.

    I found a very round about way to get the files where you want.

    When you want to save your attachments from the Outlook app to access on your phone/tablet (I'm using phone for this) here's what you do.

    Mind you, I've only been able to view them in the files mode within the outlook app, but I can't access them outside the app. not acceptable in my book.

    quick note: so I have the ES filemanager (free) installed... I think you might have to as well.

    In the outlook app, save to your device.

    assuming you've done this to all attachments you're trying to access go to the cog in the menu that comes down when you swipe the top of your android screen.

    in the device settings now...

    find the storage option...

    tap on used space...

    then downloads....

    you're now in the download history

    you should be able to see all the "hidden" files you downloaded within the outlook app.

    if you tap and hold you should be able to do the checklist option to select everything...

    then... you should see the share option in the top right hand side of the screen... tap that...

    choose ES save to... and pick the downloads dir and you'll get access to your files....

    hope that all makes sense.

    it made me happy to finally get access to all those hidden files.

    Jerrin,

    MS has publicly denounced android, and linux, which it is based on, that is why there is no option to save as, for example, nor is there any support for essential features.

    I have to forward to my gmail acct. to download to my sd.
