outlook.live.com Sent mails not saved in Sent items

Hi ...I have my 3rd party mail account configured to my outlook.live.com . The mails have been synced and so did the folders(including sent items) , however whenever i try to send mails from outlook.live.com ,using the account which i configured , the mails are sent without any issues but the mails are not saved in the sent items of my outlook.live.com.  I then checked the mail settings of my 3rd party provider and they do have the settings set properly for saving all the messages to sent items."Copy Email Messages to Sent Items When Sending Mail:" - is set to always. Appreciate any inputs to fix this problem.

Thanks

The way I see it, if you have a connected account configured to use POP (or IMAP, for that matter), then your outgoing mail isn't using Outlook.com's SMTP server to send the message. It's using the connected account's SMTP server, which means the Sent folder on that remote service should have a copy of the outgoing message. Your Outlook.com mailbox won't even see the outgoing message and, hence, won't have a copy in the Outlook.com Sent folder.

This happened to me too. Microsoft tech support told me it simply doesn't save sent copies currently - it's not working - that was back in October. They told me to BCC myself on sent messages. I had some time to come back and see if there was a solution

    • I just finished reading through the 7 pages of replies and every solution from Microsoft is wrong.

    Hey Microsoft!

    • This is a problem with outlook mail live - not 365 or outlook 2007 or any other version!
    • Changing Pop setting does nothing to resolve this.
    • Changing the from address does nothing to resolve this.
    • All the other solutions offered aren't relevant - again - this is the "improved" "upgraded" version of the live version.
    • Prior to the upgrade that I experienced on 10/18 sent messages were saved just fine.
    • Using BCC to save copies of email I sent isn't a viable business solution!
      • Note if that is Microsoft solution perhaps they should at least add the option to designate and assign a bcc to be added to sent mail - however the way things are going I doubt that would work either.
    • I just logged onto my server to see if sent copies are sent there - they're not - Basically everytime I send an email out, all trace of it is deleted and removed for ever! Yay! Makes it so easy to run a business!!!!!

So what is the solution or when is thing going to get fixed?

Hey forum - did you find any solutions that work? Other email programs you like? Other products you recommend?  I tried using Firefox's and Googles email but those are worse. Note I loved outlook prior to the upgrade - now its garbage and Microsoft's support is crap.

I just spotted this problem too. After so many months, and this simple problem is not fixed yet? Just add the setting to save copies of sent items.. Totally frustrating..

They are not the same. You cannot go to the old outlook.com once you have migrated onto outlook.live.com.  You are redirected to outlook.live.com no matter what you try.  So they look the same because you are going to the new one and cannot access the older version.
