How to merge 2 Microsoft accounts?

Hello,

I created a Outlook email account and I have a other outlook email address that used to be a Hotmail address. Before I knew that you can rename a Outlook account I created another account with the same name. Is it possible to merge the two accounts.

    Thanks Brian.  I have decided since I'm not "deep" into files yet, I am going to close one account.  I'm not a tech person and I just want things SIMPLE.  lol.  Add my Android smart phone to the mix and all the Google tracking, I would almost like to go back to pencil and paper.

    Microsoft tells me I have to wait 60 days and then I can take the original email as an alias in the account I keep.  Only doing this because I need to stop using the original email address and somehow I had already opened the second account without knowing the facts.

    Here it is December 2016 and I still need to merge two Microsoft Accounts....  No one has given a clear answer.

    Merge them by installing Windows Live Mail, then creating accounts in WLM that access each mailbox.  If you allow WLM to detect the settings automatically, you'll get accounts that allow you to move the messages from one mailbox to the other.

    You can't merge accounts. You can manually export contacts from one account and import them into the other. You can transfer the mail from one account to the other using a mail client that allows two-way connections to the mailboxes. You can export the calendar of one as an ICS file and import it into the other, but you can't merge them otherwise.

    I noticed that you have posted several times lately asking simular questions that I have had.

    I admit I am not familiar with type of Live or Outlook Accounts you are trying to merge.

    I can only tell you what I have learned over the past month. 

    1. You can not merge a pop (ie.hotmail, live, or msn account)  What you can do if you don't have 2 set up, is using your pop account you can create an new alies account and use the same password for it.  I haven't tried this but it appears that doing in this way you would have access to all your mail, folders cloud services, as well as send and receive email.  

    I was unaware of this and made the mistake of setting up a complete new account under Outlook.com for the sole reason if needing to log in to my Wind I was 10 system.

    So from what I can tell in my case I am never going to be able to link or merge my accounts in the same way thatI have the ability to do with my Google account.  

    So I suppose I should be thankful that my outlook_com has never been used and there is a possibility that I well be able t I deleted it without doing much harm.
