Is there any way to disable junk-mail/spam filtering completely in Outlook.com? I'd prefer my Windows client to handle this locally, thus everything I receive to my @outlook.com address should be going into Inbox.

Why go to all that trouble?  The spam filter can be completely circumvented with two rules.  See JanD's post on 10/30/2014.

Granted, it would be much cleaner for M$ to offer a simple option to blow away their spam filter (or better yet, give us one that works as well as the one offered by gmail), but the 2-rule band-aid resolves the issue at hand.

I have (as per suggestions) added approx 200 "known safe" domains and more than 300 safe senders, including other family members, my entire address book (stored in outlook.com) and many others… it has made little to no difference.

Please, as soon as possible, either fix your spam filter or allow us to disable it. I and presumably MANY others will be forced to move to other services if this is not fixed.

Thank you for the work-around.  I had a difficult time figuring out where to go to create this "rule," since my Outlook account doesn't look like what you posted, nor is the wording exactly the same, but I found it under "Options," "Mail," "Inbox and Sweep Rules," "New Rule."  I called my new rule "avoiding the junk filter," chose "it includes these words in the sender's address" in the box for  "when the message arrives and it matches all of these conditions," entered the @ sign, chose "move the message to folder," for the "do all of the following" box, and chose the inbox for where to move the mail to.  From the looks of it that will work, but we'll see.  Thanks for the suggestion.  There are so many options, I don't think I would have found this just looking through them and not knowing to look for a "rule" option.

I agree with others, Outlook should have a simple option to disable the junk mail filter entirely.  So many things are being done "for" us these days, things we would often not like anyone or anything to do, especially if they really aren't done in any fashion that makes sense in the first place.  Deciding what is junk and what is not has never worked in any email program or platform that I've seen - I think that is a decision I'd prefer to make myself, thank you very much!

My inbox rules options don't look anything like yours - mine are far more simplistic and apparently don't include the options you have for rule conditions.  I don't even have a rule manager, NEW button or CREATE RULE button.  Just simple icons for create, edit, delete, and arrows to move up/down in order.  As a result,  I can't create a rule like this.

It appears that they have me on a different version of Outlook.com than you are on - my version is labeled "Outlook Mail", not Outlook.com like yours.

I hope (for your sake) you aren't eventually switched over to what they have me running.  You won't like it.
