Microsoft Teams Room version 5.2.115.0 bug: Teams Room account can't login

Hello,

I work as an AV integrator and we currently have roughly 100 Microsoft Teams Room machines installed.

Since last tuesday we have been notified of multiple rooms (10 so far) where the Microsoft Teamsroom account cannot login.

All these rooms have in commen that the Microsoft Teams Room application has been updated (automatically) to version 5.2.115.0

Previous versions of the Microsoft Teams Room application do not show these issues.

Is there a way we can downgrade these machines to an older working version?

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Hi Brandon,

    Thanks for this reply.

I tried this 'manual install new teams' with one of our customers rooms, and this worked.

You describe a registry key that was set to '1' by Intune. The BlockNonAdminUserInstall registry key. When I take al look in different teams Rooms we manage, there isn't such a key available. So I have to add this registry key to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Appx

Am I correct? And if I add this, the rest of the update wil go by itself?

We manage our rooms via datto rmm, not via Microsoft device manager, so we can't use your methode to add the key as described in the article. But from datto we can do this via script.

Thanks, I'll keep these notes. As of right now, all our rooms are working with the older version but if they happen to auto update, I'll have to give this a try.

100% agreed on this, an automatic roll out of an update that breaks our Teams Room and the fix is to wipe your device and effectively leave it in an unmanaged state with the advice not to add any custom policies, security etc as it will leave the device in an unsupported state is ridiculous. In my case due to our internal policies we will need to create a new network segment to separate these devices from our internal network as we can not stand over them and see they are sufficiently secured/hardened for our internal network.
