How do I stop teams from turning my headset volume up to 100% in the "App volume and device preferences" before each call?

The title says it all. The only way to prevent my ear drums from bursting is:

  1. Join a call before anyone else
  2. open Settings
  3. search for "Sound mixer options" (which takes you to the "App volume and device preferences" screen)
  4. turn the teams volume down for my headset

This happens 100% of the time and it's absolutely ridiculous.

    Coming here to say that the solution from 2023 to turn off the "Sync device buttons" setting fixed my issue. And having this setting off didn't stop my headset from continuing to control volume just fine.

    For me, it actually did nothing. still the same

    @Microsoft: Fix this! it is annoying and hurts my hearing.

    It has actually been an issue for much longer than a year. Absolutely ridiculous it still isn't resolved.

    This option was off on my end. I turned it on, then clicked on that "Make a test call". It was loud but during that call I used my device' buttons to lower the volume, waited a few seconds and ended the call. On my next test call the previous volume setting was saved.
