Microsoft Teams and Apple Airpod compatability

Hi - I use Microsoft Teams regularly (many times a day) to conduct business meetings.  I very recently bought a pair of Apple Airpods (Pro) as my old plug-in headphones stopped working after several years of service.  I run Teams on my Macbook Pro laptop.

Unfortunately, I can't get the Airpods working with Teams.  People in the meeting can hear me perfectly, but I can't hear them.  I'd appreciate it if somebody could offer some advice on how to get this configured.

    Hi All,

    I found the following workaround that I have been using for a few weeks now with my AirPods Pro:

    1. Go to Device Manager and expand the Sound, Video and Game Controllers section
    2. Disable the AirPods (Pro) Stereo

         a.  You should still see an "AirPods (Pro) Hands-Free AG Audio" or similar device listed here

    After that change, my AirPods Pro work perfectly as a headset with MS Teams so long as I ensure that the Bluetooth is connected to the laptop each time I go to use it.  For some reason it occasionally says it's connected but sound comes through the laptop so I Disconnect and Connect the AirPods via Bluetooth settings again.

    Also, in a interesting irony, on the Bluetooth page it displays "Driver Error" after the change noted above, but it continues to work as a headset even after restarting the laptop.

    Note that on this particular laptop, I am only using my AirPods as a headset.  If you want to listen to music, you may need to toggle the Device Manager "AirPods Stereo" setting back on.

    Agreed. It is something that should be addressed sooner than later.  We are a full mac shop with 50 people as well and just moved to MS and this is a major inconvenience. for meetings in an office, home, or any public area.

    Come on, Microsoft. This is mind blowing even for you. You could have fixed this in a day if you wanted to. You're not discouraging people from using AirPods, but rather turning them into even stronger Apple brand evangelists. I can't wait for the day my work decides to dump the suite of lousy Microsoft products.

    I can get my AirPods Pros working with teams for both speaker and mic if I have them connected, on, and chosen as the audio before starting Teams. I have to restart each time I connect them, but they work.

    Considering many people are now working from home around the clock, I really hope this gets fixed soon. My airpods are ideal for video conferencing since they're small and comfortable to wear. Not to mention, many bluetooth headsets are now sold out on Amazon.

    Please update this!
