I have recently received Microsoft Teams access as part of my Office pack.
I noticed that with the mobile app logged in, the status is constantly showing "Available" even when i am not active.
This means anyone looking for me would believe that i am available.
Is there no way to set it to show as away or at least a separate status that states "mobile" when we are not active on the desktop App of teams?
It is highly annoying to have to amend the status manually.

Suffice to say, this issue is still present and I am set to "Away" most of the time because Microsoft Teams status sync when using multiple devices is completely broken.
As others have stated, this is a good temporary work around and appreciated to get my desktop app working. However, it doesn't solve the problem. For me, it proves there is sync issue as removing the 2nd device resolved the issue because there's nothing to sync. I've had issues with the status not working which additionally breaks notifications between mobile and desktop versions. Logging off, uninstalling, and rebooting do not fix the issue. An acceptable solution cannot be to stop using the mobile application as I cannot carry my computer around 24/7. I've also tried using the web app version which also results in the same sync issues. Is there a way to escalate this with MS?
I have this issue as well. I have teams on my ipad, iphone, and computer. The status of either the ipad or iphone is overriding the status of the computer, and shows me as "away". It also will not let me set "Available" manually on the computer.

My status indication changes on desktop, tablet & mobile regardless of which device I make the change on. So as long as I remember to update it my current status is accurate & all can see it.
When closing down at the end of my shift I set it to "Appear Off Line" & then when I log in at the start of my shift I set "Available" & that shows to all that I am at work. It then follows however I set it during the shift & if in a meeting it shows "Busy" so I do not have problems.
