MS Teams crashes when EOS Webcam Utility is used for Video

Hi, 

I am using Microsoft Teams for my school. I am using EOS Webcam Utility (NOT Beta) with my Canon EOS 80D. It was working perfectly with video calls for school up until about two weeks ago. Now, whenever I turn on my camera in a video call (and the video setting is EOS Webcam), my Teams crashes and I get an error saying, "There was a glitch. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please sign in again." 

In my school, there is an expectation that my camera is on, and my computer's webcam is unusable, so I really need this fixed, and quickly.

    I did a last check for today:

    Remove Teams from my computer, loaded  Teams new.

    Got the Version of Teams 1.3.00.28779 installed - everything fine - no crash.

    Run "Check for Updates", restartet Teams and got it updated to 1.3.00.30866 AND: it crashed.

    Found that it looks that  today three was a new version released - 1.3.00.31689

    But cannot find it to download....

    Great info. As a software developer I'd give you a gold start for isolating the exact version it occurs in! (too bad no MS Teams developers or support are here TO USE THIS INFO!!)

    Edit: My teams is saying I have the latest at version (build) 30866

    Also, I noticed the camera does not need to be plugged for Teams to crash... just selecting the driver suffice to crash the application.

    I have the same problem since last week. I have a canon M6 MkII I also tried it with a Canon 700D. I can start a teams meeting with the camera turned off but once I turn the camera on teams stops. Zoom works fine.

    In Event viewer under Windows Logs/Application I see the following

    Hi Nik, thank you. 

    I am working through searching those commands(it takes a while), but so far nothing comes up. For that matter, I couldn't even find the hidden folder AppData. 

    Of course I should have tried on the web! That actually did work! EOS Webcam Utility works with the web browser version of Teams!

    But I would hope this is just a temporary fix, because then my Desktop Teams App is just taking up space... :/

    If you can provide any more help with getting it to work with my Canon camera, I would greatly appreciate it.
