Loud Beeping when Muted in a MS Teams Call

When using my Aftershokz OpenComm during a call, I hear a loud beeping noise when I mute myself during the call. This beeping only goes away when I unmute. I've contacted Aftershokz, and they've assured me this is due to a recent MS Teams update causing connectivity issues.

I've also read other non-Microsoft forums and realize this is apparently an issue since 2021 with MS Teams and multiple brands of headphones/headsets. However, it only recently started for me today, April 18, 2022.

Is Microsoft doing anything to solve this issue? Is there a solution to this?

It seems to be making many users upset and frustrated. I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't addressed this yet.

So this is Voice of Customer. Very Important.

    1. Headset worked perfectly for years.
    2. Microsoft made changes to the software that connects to headset.

3, Headset does not work like it used to.

    Simple cause and effect.

    1. I shouldn't have to be a technogeek and scour the internet looking for solutions to an issue caused by a new Microsoft software release.
    2. Microsoft should thoroughly test their software before deploying.
    3. Microsoft should quickly back out changes that do make it to Prod that cause issues or provide a patch.
    4. And most important: Microsoft should acknowledge the issue and provide an ETA for fix.

The voice and sounds are from Shokz. lol, how can you not hear that? Compare the female voice from pairing and mute. It is the same. Why should MS disable some features and not others. Like I said before, whatever your favorite lingo technical change you want to use, MS made the correct choice. Because to be honest, the Shokz voice now telling me I am on mute is fine. It is the Shokz beeps that is bad. So I have no issue with MS allowing the headset's complete feature list. It is up to Shokz to change their firmware to change this beeping feature. If it is working "fine" in Zoom, that means Zoom has not changed their gain. Again, my headset is working fine also. The beeps and initial voice saying you are now muted is from the headset. It is the headset voice.

What you state is not my experience at all. My After Shocks headset is awesome and works perfectly. A few weeks ago, it started making a loud beeping whenever I was muted in Teams. Not Zoom. Not WebEx. Just Teams. This is not a headset thing. This is a Microsoft thing. As you can tell from the many complaints in this thread, I'm hardly alone.
