No sound when entering a Meeting on Teams

Hello,

I have observed on numerous occasions that when I enter a Meeting on the Microsoft Teams Windows app (with my Mic and Camera off, because it is university related and someone else is presenting) I can't hear anything. It doesn't happen all the time. I have tried entering the Meeting again and sometimes it works and I can hear. I have also opened the Volume mixer and that was not the issue (the Meeting was note muted). I even tried reinstalling the App. This only happens in a Meeting, not a private call with someone else and only on the Windows app, not the browser. I would like to use the App though, so does anyone know how I can solve this?

Thank you in advance!

    I think you must be completely thick. He is asking about Linux you provide information about some crackpot operating system. The fact of the matter is, you have changed something recently on MS-TEAMS so that it is (deliberately) crippled on Linux and Chrome (and also your own **** browser called EDGE is no difference). Microsoft is back to old tack ticks. When we install your virus (called MS-TEAMS app on Linux, it works). But the MS-TEAMS app on Linux is a virus. You can't shut it, once started it automatically set to start up -- auto start, despite switching off).

    Please take me to a world where there is no Microsoft, please god!

    Problem solved for me :-)

    The problem was that the built in speakers became completely dead, not only in Teams but for all applications.

    After re-installation of all audio related drivers it worked for a while but after using Teams it happened again.

    It turned out while investigating another problem, (login in Outlook) that I had fast start up enabled.

    Turning off this option cured two problems. The speakers are now working.

    So the fast start up option seems to do a lot of harm. It caches more than it should I think.

    Power options -> System settings

    Uncheck the: Turn on fast start up (recommended)

    You might need to press : Change settings that are currently unavailable

    The computer will take a little bit longer to boot, but I can live with that.

    I have this issue too with a customer. She will join a meeting even with a microphone and camera but sound will not play out of the laptop speakers. The only way I've found to get it to work is keep toggling between audio devices until it decides it wants to play audio. Very frustrating.

    I am having the same issue. I have no system audio when I join a meeting but when I leave everything comes back. I seem to have sounds for the teams app when I enter and leave. This occurred for me when using the app as well as trying to join from the browser. My drivers are updated and I don't have this issue with any other program

    Same problem. Opera browser, logged in via meeting link to large meeting and there were visuals but not sound.  PC has no mic.  This is not a problem with Zoom.
