No sound when entering a Meeting on Teams

Hello,

I have observed on numerous occasions that when I enter a Meeting on the Microsoft Teams Windows app (with my Mic and Camera off, because it is university related and someone else is presenting) I can't hear anything. It doesn't happen all the time. I have tried entering the Meeting again and sometimes it works and I can hear. I have also opened the Volume mixer and that was not the issue (the Meeting was note muted). I even tried reinstalling the App. This only happens in a Meeting, not a private call with someone else and only on the Windows app, not the browser. I would like to use the App though, so does anyone know how I can solve this?

Thank you in advance!

Microsoft Teams Version 1.4.00.7174 (64-bit). It was last updated on 3/30/21.

I'm in scores of Zoom meetings every week without any problems.

Someone decided to set up a Microsoft Teams meeting and it was a complete disaster. Six of the 8 participants could not get audio and/or video to work.

So, obviously everyone hangs up and we reschedule the meeting after we have figured out how to get Microsoft Teams working.

So, obviously... do a test call... and???

How the friggin frig do you do a test call?

And, how come devices doesn't show up in settings?

I've had this problem intermittently.  Today I was able to solve it by going into clicking on my profile picture, selecting Settings/Devices, and then clicking on "Make a test call".

The first time I made the test call, I could hear the test going fine so I aborted it before it finished and resumed my original call.  Teams got connected to my speakers so I could hear everything, but I also had a continuous 'incoming call' notification sound going as well.  So I repeated the procedure to make a test call, this time letting the test finish normally (it took 15-20 sec).  When I again resumed my original meeting, the sound was fine.

    I hope this helps!

I am also having the same issue. It is wide spread across multiple users/PC's within a school. I tried disabling the new meeting experience but this hasn't solved it in our environment.

Another forum mentioned it was because the 'host' was using the owa version or the installed app and the users with the issue was using the opposite. But i ruled this out by everyone using owa version with the same issues. So this may help some of you?

Has anybody else got any other workarounds/fixes that works for them?

    Thanks,

    Tom.

I have experiencing the same issues. It has now happened twice, and I am currently experiencing this and trying to troubleshoot because the meeting I am in is really important. Luckily for me the speaker enunciates really well, so I can at least get the general idea from the live caption.

Checked my audio, everything is fine, speakers are working and yet Teams sates that the speakers for this meeting are not connecting. I have deinstalled and downloaded the app again. Nothing.

Any meeting with more than 10 already in the meeting before joining just turns off the speaker.
