Recent update to Teams causes beeping in headset when on mute

Been using Teams since the start of lockdown with a headset. As of today I am getting a double-beep at about five second intervals (like a hold beep) in the headset when I am muted. This has not happened before and been using same headset for months.

Also note that when I mute / unmute in Teams, the headset now announces "mute on" and "mute off" to me.

This feels like a Teams update has created this "feature" - please turn it off!

I think this is the correct answer, that the beep comes form the firmware of the headsets. I am using a Poly Voyager Focus 2 headset and the only solution I've found is to uninstall the Poly software, as well as turning off bluetooth and only using the dongle it comes with.

I've been using the same headset for 3 years--never a problem until Microsoft's last update. The problem ABSOLUTELY rests on Microsoft's shoulders. The fact that they OPENLY admit that if you use their products it won't occur.....way to anger your client base Microsoft!!!!

I just have to add... With so many complaints, for so long, and so many suggested alternatives seemingly going "unheard" by Microsoft, I begin to wonder what value this forum has to Microsoft...
