Recent update to Teams causes beeping in headset when on mute

Been using Teams since the start of lockdown with a headset. As of today I am getting a double-beep at about five second intervals (like a hold beep) in the headset when I am muted. This has not happened before and been using same headset for months.

Also note that when I mute / unmute in Teams, the headset now announces "mute on" and "mute off" to me.

This feels like a Teams update has created this "feature" - please turn it off!

It has something to do with new "Music" button at the top. I had mine fixed and then I clicked that "Enable High Fidelity Mode" and it came back. Now I cannot get rid of it.

I emailed customer support at ******@Aftershokz.com. They recommended a few fixes that I could not use because my laptop is company owned and controlled and I can't install anything on my own. I told them that and they sent me a "Loop100 Adapter" that seems to be doing the trick.

I would suggest emailing them. It took a day or two for the back and forth emails, but they shipped it to me quickly.
