Been using Teams since the start of lockdown with a headset. As of today I am getting a double-beep at about five second intervals (like a hold beep) in the headset when I am muted. This has not happened before and been using same headset for months.
Also note that when I mute / unmute in Teams, the headset now announces "mute on" and "mute off" to me.
This feels like a Teams update has created this "feature" - please turn it off!

Unfortunately, Microsoft does not offer certified headsets like Aftershokz! Some of us who have hearing loss require bone conduction to hear clearly in meetings which is what the Aftershokz brand offers. Furthermore, Microsoft should not require users to purchase headsets that they deem worthy. As a business communication tool, they should be flexible and adapt/accept all headsets. Also, this issue is occurring again, 7 months later, and in a number of different devices. This feature needs to go!!
Yes it worked great for calls but the dongle does not support Bluetooth headphones mode, only headset. If you're only taking calls then it's perfect. However I like to listen to music when not on calls but that's not possible with the dongle. If I wanted to use the dongle, I would have had to use a 2nd set of headphones just for music.
What I love about the OpenComm is that they can seamlessly play music using Bluetooth Headphones mode and then switch to Headset mode as soon as a call started, then switch back as soon as it was over. Headphones mode allows for hi-fi audio because there is no need to support an audio channel for the microphone. It's great and worked fine for years.
I'm no longer using the dongle and set up teams to use my webcam's microphone for input and OpenComm for audio output.
Teams is so broken.
Settings/Privacy/Microphone - toggle off 'Allow apps to access your microphone'
Shokz issue solved :)
It's back! The "mute on" announcement and double-beep is back! Aargh! Microsoft Teams - roll it back... roll it back!
