Managing sound and video settings during Teams meetings and calls for optimal communication
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It Works! I can't believe it! The Setting is in Teams.

Been using Teams since the start of lockdown with a headset. As of today I am getting a double-beep at about five second intervals (like a hold beep) in the headset when I am muted. This has not happened before and been using same headset for months.
Also note that when I mute / unmute in Teams, the headset now announces "mute on" and "mute off" to me.
This feels like a Teams update has created this "feature" - please turn it off!

Same issue occurred recently to my headset Sennheiser HD 450 BT.
Why does it keep beeping when on mute? Is it just prompting you to buy MS certified headsets??
This is indeed a very annoying problem and making users upset against Teams.
Please fix this issue asap.
Anyone reading this I have an EPOS Sennheiser Adapt 560 which is an MS certified headset. I have the same issue so I can guarantee you this is a Microsoft problem. I know this is just a community forum but it is annoying to keep reading about how its because the headset is not approved. That is not the case, this is a Microsoft problem and its extremely annoying. Paying that much for a headset that is supposed to be compatible and then having MS ruin your whole experience with a bad update is aggravating. I have to be on a headset for confidentiality purposes so by the time my day is done I can still hear the 2 second beep in my head all night. I really hope they fix this soon.
Hi, i heard about that issue and was wondering that i don´t have this problem with my Aftershockz OpenComm. But since today, during the day, i got this issue now! This is so enoying! This makes, as written before, the headset unusable! And really, because this is why it is not certified? It has worked before for months. And Aftershockz are not the cheapest headsets. Why should i buy anotherone? I´m using TEAMS intensively for work and here my headset allows me to be "mobile" in the office via PC/Phone. And now, from one second to another it is not usable anymore? Crazy.
sorry guys, i know you are not personally responsible for this, but this is a NO GO for me from MS.
Hi Daniel,
Ok - so I do not get the beeping problem when using the browser version of Teams.
I am using an Aftershokz Opencomm headset, which has been working perfectly for some months. This issue has only appeared recently in the Teams desktop app - which reports "Microsoft Teams Version 1.4.00.26376 (32-bit). It was last updated on 11/10/2021."
There appear to be a number of identical threads and questions in this and other forums - a recent update to Teams has changed the behaviour between Teams and the Aftershokz OpenComm headset to cause the headset to announce "mute on" and "mute off" when muting/unmuting in Teams; and during mute the headset is beeping loudly.
This new behaviour makes the OpenComm headset essentially unusable. If you do have any influence or route into Microsoft then my understanding is that all Aftershokz OpenComm headset users are desperate for this to be resolved!
Using the web version of Teams is interesting as an idea.
Thanks,
Dave
