Aftershokz headset alerting me that my Teams call is muted

In short, no matter how I try to mute my mic, the headset tells me mute is on and double-beeps every few seconds. It happens if I mute the call, mute in call settings, or even if I simply mute in my laptop's sound settings.

Teams does NOT alert me that I'm muted if I use a different headset or no headset -- only using the Aftershokz headset. This is an Aftershokz problem, not a Teams problem, but Aftershokz tech support has been unhelpful. I'm hoping someone here has a workaround.

This problem cropped up last fall, went away, and now is back.

    The fix I have found is to use the web based MS Teams. The Desktop App appears to have had an upgrade that is causing this...

    This sound has been driving me absolutely nuts for weeks but think I have finally sorted it (for me anyway) and maybe you could try this also.......

    1. Right click the volume button in the start menu or far right on taskbar and select "Sounds"
    2. Click on the Recording tab, and select your Shokz/Aftershokz Headset. Click "Properties"
    3. Go to the "Levels" tab and you might see that your headset is muted by default for some reason. Unclick it and you should get a verbal notification that the mute is now off and the beep has gone!

    The Aftershokz response doesn't seem correct. I have multiple models of Shokz and they all do the BEEP now but did not a year ago. I have not tested it by using the Web version of Teams but work-arounds seem like nonsense to me when it worked before.

    I had no issues with my AfterShokz headphones for 2 years, then one day MS Teams updates and now they beep all the time. I tried everything that was suggested and it might work for a bit but would end up doing it again. I finally email Aeropex and they said they had a workaround. This is the reply they sent me.

    "Beeping when on mute for the Microsoft Teams app is a known issue on our end which is why our design team was able to create this UC dongle. It is a USB dongle and it's a plugged and play thing that you may connect to your device that will eliminate the beeping issue."

    All I did was email them, tell them the issue, and they are shipping me out this UC dongle free of charge. I haven't received it yet, but I thought everyone else might like to know they are actually trying to help their customers. So if you need to resolve this issue email them and hopefully it will resolve the issue.

    Actually, this is the setting of the headphone. It is a mute reminder of your headphone. 
    Since this is a factory setting, there's no way to change/turn off it by the end of users. Hope this could be kindly understood by you.
