Windows 11 Bluetooth no sound/microphone and crashing

My Bluetooth earphones have been working well all the time until I upgraded my laptop to Windows 11. The laptop shows my earphones are connected, but neither sound nor microphone works. The browser and Zoom crash every time I try to use Bluetooth earphones to listen to music or join meetings.

I have tried disconnecting/reconnecting Bluetooth earphones, turning on/off Bluetooth, resetting my earphones, restarting my laptop, and none of these resolves the issues of no sound/mic and crashing. I even bought a new pair of Bluetooth earphones, and it did not work either.

I think this is a bug in Windows 11. Am I the only one facing this issue? What exactly is going on with Windows 11 Bluetooth? And what else can I do now?

    Hi Guys,

The last Windows 11 Update fixed the bluetooth audio issue for me: https://support.microsoft.com/fr-fr/topic/august-25-2022-kb5016691-os-build-22000-918-preview-59097044-915a-49a0-8870-49823236adbd

I just updated to the latest state. I can't confirm this. For me everything is crashing (firefox, chrome and jitsi) if the microphone gets used. Sometimes even the taskbar crashes. This is unuseable. Fortunately, you can restore Windows 10.

If nothing else is running and I start ZOOM, the sound works and I can hear sound on things like Youtube and Youtube TV, as long as ZOOM is running in the background. Google Meet also works normally. If ZOOM is closed no sound on any of those mentioned. The mic works on ZOOM also.

Same earphones work on Chromebook, Android Tablet, Android phone.

Frustrating but agree with the conclusion that it is Windows 11, as there were no issues before upgrading from 10.
