Scanner won't run on Windows 11

I have an Epson Perfection V600 Photo scanner that I can't get to run on Windows 11. I did an install with the disk that came with the scanner, then downloaded the latest driver update from Epson, but when I try to run it, I get a message saying "Can't communicate with scanner." Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I really need to use this scanner.

When I have a problem I will usually try at least two things

1--Start off as if this is the first time time installing it by just going over every entry, delete what's there and then reenter the required information.--THEN

1-Shut the computer down, not a reboot but a complete fresh rerestart from off to on.

    or

2--Uninstall the unit--complete-- as if it never existed. the reinstall from scratch

Often I'll Google the problem knowing that you can't be the one one who experienced it, Many times there are numerous or similar examples of what you are experiencing. Quite often I find enough information to help with a good result.

I did this and it worked yesterday and today it does not. The V550 appeared in the system listing. Have installed the driver again today. The system knows it is there and indicates it is idle.

I uninstalled the the V550 scanner and reinstalled V550_EScam_3923_AM.exe. That is what was present yesterday.

    Still get cannot communicate message

I'm so sorry to hear that. However, I'm sure many people who own your model will have the same problem, and Epson will release a fix sooner or later. I hope it's sooner!

BTW, in my case I uninstalled the old driver, restarted the computer, downloaded and installed the new one with the scanner on all the time. I didn't try running the scanner at this time. Then I restarted the computer and the scanner, and it worked.

One think worked for me. When I got the “ Can’t connect” message, Instead of reinstalling the “install file”, I restarted the computer instead. Guess what……All went well. Give this a try next time and see if it works for you.

This works with my Epson Perfection V30, thank you very much. I note that someone mentioned that they couldn't see the Preview and Scan buttons but they are there even if not visible. You just have to click in the space where they used to be and they appear!
