Scanner won't run on Windows 11

I have an Epson Perfection V600 Photo scanner that I can't get to run on Windows 11. I did an install with the disk that came with the scanner, then downloaded the latest driver update from Epson, but when I try to run it, I get a message saying "Can't communicate with scanner." Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I really need to use this scanner.

    Yes, but Epson don't do a Windows 11 driver for my scanner which is the reason for the post in the first place. It is only a few years old but Epson it seems want you to buy a new scanner.

    This fix worked perfectly for me. I now have full functionality of the Epson software, and it stays that way even after I restart the computer. Thank you very much, indeed!

    I have a similar issue with a Plustek OpticSlim 2700.

    I have found a sort of workaround : The 'Cannot connect to scanner' message appears if I turn on the scanner after turning on the computer. If I turn on and connect the scanner before powering up the computer it recognises the scanner with the updated pilot I downloaded from the Plustek website. However, if the scanner goes into 'stand by' mode I get the 'cannot connect' message again intil I re-boot the computer. So I have disabled the 'stand by' mode. Not very eco-friendly, but then I mostly do my scanning in batches anyway.

    This is fine but Epson doesn't have a Windows 11 driver for my Epson Perection V30. In fact, if I uninstal the driver and then reinstal the original driver (comapatible with Vist), it works having re-started my PC. The problem is if I switch off my PC and try and use it again a few days later I have the same problem adn have to uninstal and rinstal again. I had the same problem when I upgraded from indows 7 to Windows 10 - I had to buy a new scanner but my present scanner is just a few years old and anyway, they have double in price so I do not see why i should keep throwing away perfectly good scanners just because Windows 11 is not comaptible with my old scanner.
