How do I turn off PIN login on Windows 11?

There is no input options, just sign-in options and the remove button is greyed out, hence unable to be selected

In Windows 11 I followed your instructions. However, when I get to step 3 there is no "Input Options" available.

No, it is not a concern, help is what we do here.

**2. Can I easily uninstall Windows-11 on this recently purchased machine and install Windows-10 instead? (with which I had no such problems)?**If the device came with Windows 11 preinstalled, you would need to ask the device manufacturer if the allow a downgrade to Windows 10, some manufactures do some don't, it is not something that Microsoft offers.

As for the PIN removal, there are a couple of points to note.

1. if you have a work or school account connected to the device, they may insist upon windows hello. this is to prevent an unknown person using your device to compromise their systems.
   The PIN will not be able to be removed unless you remove the work or school account.
2. You need to Turn off "For improved security, only allow Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts on this device.
   settings -> Accounts -> Sign-in options
   under Additional settings.
   you can then remove the PIN and it should stay removed.

If you are wanting to remove the need to enter a password on boot, and have it boot directly to the desktop. please start another thread. to avoid any further confusion in this thread.

Please follow the procedure below to remove it.

1. Press Windows+I to open the Configure window;
2. Select the option Accounts;
3. Select in the left column the option "Input Options";

As you can see there is no left column or indication of where to find that "Input options" . Once you update this let me know.

4. In the window on the right, scroll down to the option "Require Windows Hello Sign In for Microsoft Accounts" and set the button to "Disabled";
5. Go up to the option "Windows Hello PIN", click "Remove", and confirm once more;
6. Enter your Microsoft account password in the next window and confirm.
