File explorer keeps asking for a sign in but then tells me I can't log in with a personal log in and requires a business or education log in....

I actually wasn't able to remove my extra account from this page. It only gave me the option to Manage, and required me to log in to the defunct account. I had to go to "Accounts > Access work or school" instead. Deleting it there also deleted it from "Email and accounts"!
Go to "Settings" and select "accounts" then select "email and accounts" you can see and remove the old accounts on your computer.

I have the same issue. I just want it to stop asking me. I tried my MS account, but it won't take it.
Problem solved !
From Desktop right click Personalize option, go to accounts on left menu. In that accounts page page scroll down and click 'Work or School'. Then remove the unused work or school account from it. The sign in option of Explorer will also not get popped again even if you click office.com check box on privacy clicking three dots in the windows explorer.
Forgot to add, restart afterwards.
